Permanent Residence Rules in TRNC

The Director of the Immigration Department or, in the event of absence, a senior manager in the Ministry authorized by the Minister shall grant a Permanent Residence Permit to foreigners who have purchased a house in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and have a guaranteed income and have obtained a permit for at least six years without interruption, provided that they comply with the conditions set forth in paragraph (2) below.

Having a guaranteed income that will provide for oneself and one's family in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,

Owning a house in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, For the purposes of this article, "house" means a house worth at least €125,000 (One Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand Euros) or its equivalent.

Not to have one of the contagious diseases that pose a danger to public health, as determined by the Ministry Responsible for Health Affairs,

Not to have been sentenced to imprisonment in any country other than traffic crimes or not to have been convicted of money laundering, smuggling, bribery, bribery, theft, fraud, swindling, abuse of office, fraudulent bankruptcy, assault with physical harm, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, sexual assault, sexual harassment and similar disgraceful crimes and not to have any ongoing prosecution in court due to such crimes,

Not to have spent more than one hundred and eighty days abroad in the last six years.

However, if a total of more than one thousand and eighty days are not spent abroad within the period stipulated in subparagraph (A) of paragraph (1) above, the one hundred and eighty-day period is not taken into account.

Persons who will apply for a permanent residence permit must have a valid health insurance in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

For persons who have reached the age of sixty on the date of application, the expression "six years" in this article shall be read as "three years" and the expression "one thousand eighty days" in subparagraph (D) of paragraph (2) above shall be read and applied as "five hundred and forty days".
